Firstly happy Friday,
Can't lie its been 5 days since England were beaten in the final of the Euros. Probably not a sport many of you are interested in but its something I have loved and followed since a young age.
Anyway time waits for nobody and I just want to quickly stress the importance of decision making. SO I went out to watch the match at a local fan zone. Now if you read my last blog post you will know I have started my prep.
Has this stopped me being social and making the most of my life? Absolutely not and this leads me to the title of this blog post.
This year I aim to go about prep different to anything I have done before. Now with my off season I had quite a varied diet. I would have a different tea time meal most evenings to ensure I was being inclusive of my family. I did not really want to be missing out on spending quality time with my family because 'oh i can only eat this' or 'i can only do that'
and this more relaxed but calculated manor approach had proven to give me a successful off season. I have become my absolute strongest ever before but the brilliant thing is my body composition has never been this lean at a start of a prep at this current BW.
When I did a prep 3 years ago I was absolutely on the dot with everything to ensure i came to the stage in good condition. I can't lie by the end of the prep i was tired and miserable and to be honest i feared going off track at all. I couldn't bring my head around the thought of maybe having 1g over what was on my plan.
roll into my second prep and it was a lot more fluid. I learnt alot of nutrition and training. I had many refeeds in this prep and even a whole weekend away with my family where i didnt track a single food, i was mindful yes but didnt say no to anything.
so this year leads me on again, i will be smart with my food choices but i wont be following the normal bodybuilding norm diets and training. I found a training split that works for me, i have found a way of dieting that also works for me. it almost follows the IIFYM method which i know is heavily slated BUT i am not a pro bodybuilder. I just enjoy going on stage and making my family proud. SO i wont be restrictive in any means, i will enjoy this prep and it will actually be the shortest prep i have ever done.
