Silent Grit: Starting Your Bodybuilding Prep with Stealth and Focus (Part 10)

Hello!

Jonn here, and today I want to share some thoughts on starting your bodybuilding prep quietly. With 19 weeks until show day, I'm embarking on this journey with a low-key approach. Sometimes, keeping things under wraps can lead to greater focus and less pressure. Let’s explore the benefits and strategies of prepping in silence. As far as people are aware online I am just still in my off season.

Why Keep It Quiet? - a number of reasons if i am honest with you all which I will share with you below. I feel like my off season was so different to any other that it just so happens that prep feels like it will go the same way. In my off season lifting i peaked weight at like 77/78kg. Not the heaviest I have ever been by a long shot but its about the same weight I got to in my last off season yet this year I am holding a leaner physique by miles. Not only that but I had to change my training strategy to work around life a bit more

Ive gone from training 5/6 times a week to now only 4 sessions a week, hard to navigate at first but I have made it work

I have become stronger than ever before on most of my lifts, I am able to move weight in a much better fashion as well so its all part of the building blocks. Anyway I am just going to list some top reasons as to why I am keeping it low key to a degree and why you may want too aswell.

**1. Reduced Pressure:** Publicly announcing your prep can add a layer of pressure to perform. By keeping your goals private, you can focus solely on the process without the added stress of external expectations. I mean last year I enjoyed the pressure and I probably would this year but I am not specifically looking to add it into my life.

**2. Enhanced Focus:** Without the distraction of social media and constant updates, you can direct all your energy towards your training, nutrition, and mental preparation. This undivided focus can lead to better results. Like i said as far as people are aware i am just continuing the off season hustle.

**3. Element of Surprise:** Keeping your prep under wraps can create an element of surprise. When you finally step on stage, the transformation will be all the more impressive to those who weren't aware of your journey.

**Strategies for a Successful Silent Prep**

**1. Solidify Your Plan:** With 19 weeks to go, having a structured plan is crucial. Outline y

our training schedule, nutritional strategy, and posing practice. Stick to this plan diligently, adjusting as needed based on your progress.

**2. Track Your Progress:** Keep a detailed log of your workouts, meals, and physical changes. This personal record will help you stay on track and make necessary adjustments without the need for external validation.

**3. Find a Support System:** While you might be keeping your prep quiet from the public, it's essential to have a support system. Whether it’s a coach, training partner, or close friend, having someone to share the journey with can provide motivation and accountability.

**4. Mental Fortitude:** Prepping in silence requires strong mental resilience. Stay motivated by visualising your success and reminding yourself of your goals daily. Practice mindfulness and positive affirmations to keep your mindset strong.

**5. Enjoy the Process:** Embrace the journey and find joy in the daily grind. Appreciate the small victories and improvements. This positive mindset will make the prep more enjoyable and less burdensome.

**6. Manage Your Time:** Efficient time management is key to balancing prep with other life responsibilities. Plan your days meticulously to ensure you have time for training, meal prep, rest, and personal commitments.

**7. Stay Consistent:** Consistency is the cornerstone of successful prep. Stick to your routine, maintain discipline in your diet, and avoid temptations that can derail your progress. Remember, every small effort counts towards the bigger picture.

**8. Celebrate Milestones:** Privately celebrate your milestones and progress. Whether it’s hitting a new PR, achieving a certain body fat percentage, or mastering a new pose, acknowledge and reward your hard work.

**9. Reflect Regularly:** Take time to reflect on your journey. Assess what’s working and what isn’t. This reflection helps you stay aligned with your goals and make informed decisions moving forward.

**10. Prepare for the Reveal:** As show day approaches, plan how you’ll reveal your hard work. Whether it’s a dramatic social media post or simply walking on stage with confidence, make your reveal a moment of pride and accomplishment.

In conclusion, starting your bodybuilding prep quietly can be a powerful approach. It allows you to focus, reduce pressure, and enjoy the process without the noise of external opinions. With 19 weeks to go, I’m ready to embrace this journey with dedication and stealth.

Until next time, keep grinding in silence and let your success make the noise!

Yours in silent strength,

Jonn
